Nithya Raman

Los Angeles City Councilmember for District 4 since 2020, re-elected in 2024, and an urban planner by training. She was twice elected with backing from the local chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America and entered the 2026 mayoral race in February. She is one of the leading challengers to Mayor Bass, drawing significant funding from the entertainment industry. Thrive LA explicitly campaigns to block her from advancing to the November general election.
