Los Angeles Unified School District — Board District 4

Two-term Los Angeles Unified School District Board Member for District 4, first elected in 2017 and serving as board president from 2017 to 2020. A former middle-school teacher who entered the classroom through Teach For America, he later became an education-civil-rights attorney. On the board he has championed school-choice flexibility, fiscal transparency, and reading and outcomes accountability. He is seeking a third term.
